Frequently asked questions

Are there ads?

No. Streamio Player has no ads at all — no video ads before channels, no banners, no pop-ups — in the free version and in Pro alike. There are no ad networks or advertising IDs in the app. Pro adds features; it is not a way to remove ads, because there are none.

Does Streamio Player include channels?

No. Streamio Player is only a player and comes without any channels, playlists or streams. You add the IPTV playlist you get from your provider, and you are responsible for having the right to watch it.

Which playlists does it support?

M3U and M3U8 links (HLS, MPEG-TS, MP4 and DASH streams) and Xtream Codes accounts (server, username and password), with XMLTV programme guides.

Which devices does it run on?

Google TV and Android TV (TVs, boxes and sticks) and Android phones and tablets, from Android 7.0. The TV app is fully usable with a remote.

How do I add my playlist to the TV?

Open the app on your TV. It shows a MAC address and a QR code. Scan the code with your phone or open streamioplayer.com, enter the MAC address and add your M3U link or Xtream account. The list appears on the TV within seconds. You can also type the link with the remote.

Is it free?

Yes. The free version has no ads and no time limit. Pro adds several playlists at the same time, the full TV guide, catch-up, movies and series, unlimited own groups, cloud backup, channel management, a parental PIN and a sleep timer — monthly, yearly or once for life.

What happens to my data?

There are no ads, advertising IDs or analytics. The website stores a device identifier and what you send to that device; Xtream passwords are encrypted. You can delete your device and its data on the website at any time.

Writing to us

Email [email protected] — the link above opens a message with the subject filled in. To help us help you faster, please include:

  • your device (for example “Google TV Streamer” or the box model) and its Android version,
  • the MAC address shown in the app (Settings → Device),
  • what you did right before the problem.

Even better: in the app choose Settings → Advanced → Send error log to support and tell us the short reference it shows. Please never send us your playlist link or Xtream password — we don’t need them to help you.

Adding your playlist

  1. Open Streamio Player on your TV. It shows a MAC address and a QR code.
  2. Scan the QR code with your phone’s camera, or open streamioplayer.com on your phone or computer and enter the MAC address.
  3. Add your M3U link, or your Xtream Codes details (server, username and password) from your IPTV provider.
  4. The channels appear on the TV within a few seconds. No restart needed.

No phone or computer at hand? Choose Add playlist manually and type the link with the remote.

A channel doesn’t play

  • Streamio Player provides no channels: streams come from your IPTV provider. If a channel shows “Stream not found” or “Access denied”, the provider is not delivering it right now — try another channel or ask your provider.
  • When the provider drops for a moment, the app keeps reconnecting by itself until the picture is back.
  • On a slow connection, choose Settings → Player → Buffer → High and prefer HD channels over FHD or 4K ones.

No programme guide

Many providers include a guide with their playlist and the app finds it automatically. If yours doesn’t, add a guide (XMLTV link) for your device on streamioplayer.com. It can take a few minutes until programmes appear under the channels.

The picture is cut off or stretched

Press OK while watching and choose Settings in the player, or set a default in Settings → Player → Default aspect ratio. Every option is explained right on the screen.

Your own groups

On a channel press Menu (or hold OK) and choose Add to my groups. Your groups appear under Favourites on the left. Opened from a group, channel up / down stays inside that group. The free version has up to 3 own groups; Pro has no limit.

Pro

Pro adds several playlists at the same time, the full TV guide and reminders, catch-up, movies and series, unlimited own groups, cloud backup, channel management, a parental PIN and a sleep timer. You can buy it monthly, yearly or once for life. Pro belongs to the MAC address you bought it for. Changed your TV? Move Pro to the new device on the Pro page of streamioplayer.com, or write to us with both MAC addresses.

Deleting your data

Delete your device and everything stored for it on streamioplayer.com, or write to us. Data of devices that have not connected for 90 days is deleted automatically.
